Educational technology has been around for centuries, but what has changed, even from a generation ago, is the pace of innovation. While the book and pencil have remained relatively the same over generations, digital technology is developing at an exponential pace. The sheer vastness of opportunities and the ever-shifting playing field, provide unheard of opportunities, but also have the potential to overwhelm teachers and students and create anxiety and pushback. The need for support and careful measured introduction of new tools and resources is a pre-requisite to a successful adoption. Good planning is the key. In this talk we will explore key features of a good technology plan and provide some concrete examples from around the world.
