The Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test, or TKT, is a professional credential that focuses on core teaching concepts for those who intend to embark on teaching English. This certification is popular among non-native English teachers as it equips a novice with the skills needed for success in ESL and EFL teaching. Moreover, it is offered by the prestigious University of Cambridge which enjoys international recognition. It is administered by a recognized exam board that proves language teaching abilities. The three core modules are as follows: 1) Language and background to language learning and teaching, 2) Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching, and 3) Managing the teaching and learning process.

The course will begin on the first Monday of October 2020 and spans until the last week of December 2020. Throughout the course, you will be able to learn at your own pace, at your convenience to suit your schedule. Participants will have four weeks to complete the course. However, they can access the program content for a period of five weeks. Two weeks ahead of the course, a free-of-charge compulsory orientation program (Week Zero) will be offered to enhance your online learning skills.
TKT shows how you are developing as a teacher. It is ideal for people who want to prove their teaching knowledge with a globally-recognized certificate. Once you have successfully completed TKT, you could aim for other Cambridge English teaching qualifications such as DELTA. It is recommended to pre-service teachers, teachers who wish to refresh and extend their teaching knowledge, and those of other subjects keen on teaching English.
